RIZIN puts Fukuoka in focus with Landmark 13 and an international fight card

RIZIN puts Fukuoka in focus with Landmark 13 and an international fight card

RIZIN Fighting Federation is heading to Fukuoka with a card that blends Japanese contenders and overseas talent, reinforcing the promotion’s place in Japan’s 2026 combat sports calendar. Official event materials and fight-card listings show that RIZIN Landmark 13 in Fukuoka is set for April 12, 2026 at Marine Messe Fukuoka, with two title bouts at the top of the bill.

The scheduled main event is a featherweight championship fight between Razhabali Shaydullaev and Yuta Kubo, while the co-main event is a bantamweight title bout between Danny Sabatello and Joji Goto. Published card listings also point to a broader international presence on the show, including names such as Patricky Freire, Nkazimulo Zulu, Natalia Kuziutina, and James Gallagher.

What happened

RIZIN’s official March 27 press conference and event listings confirmed Landmark 13 as the promotion’s next major stop in Fukuoka, followed by later 2026 dates in Kobe on May 10, Sendai on June 6, and Hiroshima on July 18. That schedule shows RIZIN continuing to build a national touring calendar rather than concentrating only on Tokyo-area events.

For the April 12 Fukuoka show, the promotion has put championship fights at the center of the card. Shaydullaev vs. Kubo is listed as the featherweight title fight, and Sabatello vs. Goto is listed as the bantamweight title fight. Card listings also show several non-Japanese fighters appearing across the lineup, giving the event a distinctly international look even though it is being staged for a domestic Japanese audience.

One of the clearer overseas storylines involves James Gallagher, who told Yahoo Sports that the timing of his RIZIN debut in Japan felt like a fresh start. He is scheduled to face Kazumasa Majima on the Fukuoka card.

Why this matters

This matters for foreigners in Japan because RIZIN remains one of the country’s most visible MMA promotions, and Landmark 13 is not built only around Japanese names. An American champion, a Kyrgyz champion, and other international fighters are all part of a card being promoted in a major Japanese city. That makes the event relevant not just to local fans, but also to foreign residents, travelers, and international MMA followers who want to understand where high-level cross-border competition is happening in Japan.

It also matters because the event shows how Japan’s fight scene continues to serve as a meeting point between domestic stars and foreign imports. For overseas fighters, RIZIN offers visibility in Japan and Asia. For Japan-based audiences, it brings international talent into a local setting without moving the action outside the country. With more 2026 dates already announced, RIZIN appears to be building that model across multiple Japanese cities.
